{"id":29087,"date":"2014-07-02T08:28:51","date_gmt":"2014-07-02T08:28:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=29087"},"modified":"2014-07-02T08:28:51","modified_gmt":"2014-07-02T08:28:51","slug":"2-killed-several-others-robbed-at-dadeaso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/2-killed-several-others-robbed-at-dadeaso\/","title":{"rendered":"2 killed, several others robbed at Dadeaso"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Two people were shot dead and several others robbed in an armed robbery attack on Tuesday at Dadeaso in the Western Region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The robbers laid an ambush between Dadeaso and Juaboso and ordered the driver of the passenger vehicle heading to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to stop.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Western Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Alex Quainoo, the driver did not heed to the order of the robbers and sped off.<\/p>\n<p>The robbers, he said, took offense and fired into the vehicle, killing the driver who was only identified as Frank and another passenger.<\/p>\n<p>DCOP Quainoo said after the vehicle rammed into a hilly place and halted, the robbers boarded the vehicle and ordered everybody out of the vehicle and robbed them of their monies, mobile phones and other valuables.<\/p>\n<p>According to the DCOP, by the time the police got to the scene, the armed robbers had fled but they were given a hot chase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He said, however, a suspect, who was yet to be identified was arrested at Dadeaso and escorted to the police station for further investigations.<\/p>\n<p>He said the suspect, according to members of the community, is not known to them and they suspected that he might be one of those who killed and robbed the passengers in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the current situation, he said a mob had besieged the premises of the Dadeaso Police station demanding justice but the police had the situation under control.<\/p>\n<p>He said for some time now, the region had become unattractive to such activities as a result of the intensity of the day and night patrols that were being carried out by the police.<\/p>\n<p>He assured the members of the general public that the command was in control of the situation and would ensure public safety and security.<\/p>\n<p>He said currently, a team led by the regional crime officer had been dispatched to the crime scene to carry out further investigations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Graphic Online<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two people were shot dead and several others robbed in an armed robbery attack on Tuesday at Dadeaso in the Western Region.
