{"id":290837,"date":"2017-02-03T05:25:36","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T05:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=290837"},"modified":"2017-02-03T05:25:36","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T05:25:36","slug":"breman-jamra-kg-collapse-deceased-pupils-laid-to-rest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/02\/breman-jamra-kg-collapse-deceased-pupils-laid-to-rest\/","title":{"rendered":"Breman Jamra KG collapse: Deceased pupils laid to rest"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m_5623396306036401503yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486120898559_2923\">\n<p>The entire Breman Jamra Township was thrown into a\u00a0state of mourning on Thursday as they laid \u00a0to rest the remains of the six pupils who died when their\u00a0dilapidated classroom collapsed on them at the Jamra Methodist\u00a0\u00a0KG building.<\/p>\n<p>Students, teachers and bereaved parents could hold back their tears as they bid farewell to the kids who met their <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/31\/6-kg-pupils-die-in-classroom-collapse-at-breman-gyambra\/\"><strong>untimely deaths<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0on Tuesday\u00a0morning.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching and learning in the Jamra Methodist basic school has since been halted following the deaths.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG-20170202-WA0081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-290838\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG-20170202-WA0081.jpg\" alt=\"Breman Jamra\" width=\"600\" height=\"434\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The burial service was delayed by the youth who were contemplating over where to bury the children for fear of exhuming the bodies for ritual purposes by some unscrupulous people.<\/p>\n<p>This was settled as the burial took off upon the intervention of the MP and the Asikuma District Police Commander.<\/p>\n<p>The bereaved were consoled by, the MP for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Anthony Effa, delegations from the Central Regional Education Directorate, the Methodist Church of Ghana and the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Clad in black and red, the Chief of Jamra Nana Kwaw Fosu III, in an interview with Citi News, appealed to the government to expedite work on the new KG block.<\/p>\n<p>The Asikuma Odoben-Abrakwa District Police Command is currently investigating the death of the six pupils.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Akwesi Koranteng\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The entire Breman Jamra Township was thrown into a\u00a0state of mourning on Thursday as they laid \u00a0to rest the remains of the six pupils who died when their\u00a0dilapidated classroom collapsed on them at the Jamra Methodist\u00a0\u00a0KG building.
