The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Peterkin Yentumi Gynae, has urged police personnel in the Eastern Region to continually exhibit professionalism in discharging their duties in the region in this new year and beyond.<\/p>\n
The commander said this while addressing a parade\u00a0organized\u00a0by the police command to usher in the New year at the forecourt of the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters in Koforidua.<\/p>\n
He said “just putting on the uniform does not make you a police officer, but rather what comes out from you makes your profession worthy, try as much as possible to be highly professional and exhibit the professionalism you were thought at the training school to bring repute to our work.”<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The commander\u00a0added that “you have been trained for a special duty which comes along with ethics, rules and regulations, so we implore\u00a0you all to go by the rules of our profession to the highest limits in discharging your duties as service personnel.”<\/p>\n He then heaped praises on their efforts in the past years, and urged them to do better this year.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/a><\/p>\n Briefing the media after the parade, DCOP Peterkin Yentumi Gynae said the police command has been able to control the operations of\u00a0galamsey\u00a0and chieftaincy issues in the region, saying\u00a0“I am\u00a0proud to say that in 2016, chieftaincy and\u00a0galamsey\u00a0issues went down so well in this region and\u00a0we\u00a0intend to improve upon it. It is not a\u00a0one sided\u00a0affair, the heat comes up and we quickly go in to restore calm for peace to prevail, but there’s still more to do in the coming days.”<\/p>\n
