{"id":288382,"date":"2017-01-26T14:41:41","date_gmt":"2017-01-26T14:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=288382"},"modified":"2017-01-26T14:41:41","modified_gmt":"2017-01-26T14:41:41","slug":"ghana-post-md-must-be-sacked-workers-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/ghana-post-md-must-be-sacked-workers-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana Post MD must be sacked &#8211; Workers demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some workers of Ghana Post, have demanded the immediate removal of their Managing Director, Eric Yaw and two other senior staff of the company.<\/p>\n<p>The aggrieved workers are alleging that, their MD and Human\u00a0 Resources Manager, Mary Koppisah, have protected the company&#8217;s Head of ICT, Godfred Aboagye, to embezzle\u00a0funds belonging to the company.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/cde3fefb-ad46-4715-9f2a-30e7b46b7368.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-288394\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/cde3fefb-ad46-4715-9f2a-30e7b46b7368.jpg\" alt=\"cde3fefb-ad46-4715-9f2a-30e7b46b7368\" width=\"800\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The workers were demonstrating on Thursday morning, where\u00a0<strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0Phillip Nii Lartey spoke to a worker who alleged that the Head of ICT had been involved in some dubious deals \u201cthat have caused a lot of financial loss to the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also stated that, the main reason they were calling for the MD and Human Resources Manager to be sacked, was because they have failed to act on the workers&#8217; concerns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have consistently spoken to them about the head of ICT and his attitude, but anytime the union comes out to talk about the head of ICT, they will come out and defend him,\u201d the worker complained.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Retirees owed benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The worker also lamented that, some retirees were to receive some benefits owed them since 2012.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/cea94d7d-4768-4365-bef9-9e75b8c5116b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-288396\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/cea94d7d-4768-4365-bef9-9e75b8c5116b.jpg\" alt=\"cea94d7d-4768-4365-bef9-9e75b8c5116b\" width=\"800\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The workers\u2019 provident fund that management is supposed to support, has also been in arrears for the past 20 months, according to one of protesters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it ends up making the worker worse off in the sense that, this problem fund should be put in investments so that when the worker is going, he can get some huge sum of\u00a0money\u00a0to keep himself up. But it is being held for the past 20 months&#8230; So we feel that management is not giving workers what they deserve.
