Parliament reconvened today, January 24, \u00a02017, after being on break for almost two weeks.<\/p>\n
The Leadership of the house and the committee on selection are expected to present the list of standing and select committees, and the list of Members of Parliament who will be serving on the various committees.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”c1AOCnOKshOL4Gu0HwWkdPD37BTsBepQ”]This will be done in spite of the ongoing Parliamentary vetting for President Akufo-Addo\u2019s ministerial nominees, which is being undertaken by the Appointments Committee of the house.<\/p>\n
The Leadership of the house and the committee on selection, have already named the 26-members on the Appointments committee currently vetting the ministerial nominees.<\/p>\n
The Members include 16 legislators from the majority side, and 10 others from the minority.<\/p>\n
Parliament on January 11, 2017, announced a break \u201cto afford Leadership and the Committee of Selection the opportunity to compose other committees of the House for the effective conduct of parliamentary business.\u201d<\/p>\n
