The former Constituency Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), David Hoezema, who sued the party recently will be withdrawing the case from court.<\/p>\n
David Hoezeme dragged the NPP to court over the illegal constitution of the party\u2019s National Council.<\/p>\n
The party over the weekend organized regional elections to properly constitute the National Council, hence David Hoezeme\u2019s decision to withdraw the case.<\/p>\n
On Saturday June 28, 2014, the Central and Ashanti regions elected their members who included key figures like former Interior Minister, Kwamena Bartels and controversial party figure Dr. Amoako Tufuor.<\/p>\n
The remaining eight regions elected their representatives on Sunday.<\/p>\n
However, the Northern Regional Executive Committee of the party has endorsed a list submitted to the national secretariat for approval as representation on the National Council.<\/p>\n
The decision was an alternative of holding election to elect representation on the NPP National Council.<\/p>\n
Under the constitution of the party, every five constituencies in the region had the opportunity to have one person to represent them on the National Council.<\/p>\n
The former NPP constituency chairman had filed a suit at an Accra High Court challenging the current composition of the National Council.<\/p>\n
