Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Duncan-Williams gave the Opening Prayer at the service in the presence of President Donald Trump, Vice President Michael Pence, their families, close friends and colleagues at the St. John\u2019s church in Washington DC.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/3C529D8F00000578-4140342-image-a-3_1484923024414.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-286761\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/3C529D8F00000578-4140342-image-a-3_1484923024414.jpg\" alt=\"3c529d8f00000578-4140342-image-a-3_1484923024414\" width=\"634\" height=\"470\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pair were sworn in afterwards on the steps of the Capitol by the Chief Justice of the United States of America.<\/p>\n<p>The service is\u00a0known to be a tradition\u00a0for incoming presidents on the morning of a presidential inauguration, dating back to 1933 when Franklin Delano Roosevelt attended a service with his wife, Eleanor.<\/p>\n<p>The Archbishop in a tweet said he was &#8220;honoured to have led the new US administration in a prayer session ahead\u00a0of\u00a0Donald Trump&#8217;s inauguration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Honored to have led the new US administration in a prayer session ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\">@realDonaldTrump<\/a>&#8216;s inauguration.
