{"id":286254,"date":"2017-01-19T08:30:26","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T08:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=286254"},"modified":"2017-01-19T08:30:26","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T08:30:26","slug":"breast-care-international-lauds-donor-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/breast-care-international-lauds-donor-partners\/","title":{"rendered":"Breast Care International lauds donor partners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The President of Breast Care International, BCI, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has commended companies and institutions that support them in delivering free health services to Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wiafe, while reviewing operations for the just-ended year, singled out for commendation, United States based Direct Relief, as the single largest benefactor, for shipping container loads of assorted, life-saving medicines free of charge to teaching hospitals, hospitals, polyclinics,\u00a0 clinics and chip compounds across the country.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286260 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/bci-donation-3.jpg\" alt=\"bci-donation-3\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDirect Relief, has been of immense help to this country through the various medicines and hospital consumables they shipped down to us all year round. They were phenomenal in 2016 in particular, given the frequency, and volumes of donations which\u00a0 cut-across all medical conditions for our health care institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDirect Relief and their partners, gave meaning and expression to affordable health care for all,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286259 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/bci-donation-2.jpg\" alt=\"bci-donation-2\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at premises of the Peace and Love Hospital, Oduom, Kumasi, \u00a0Dr. Wiafe, who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of the facility, has handed over the first consignment of drugs donated by Direct Relief this year, to several health institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The package included mental health donations of Invega Risperdal, and risperidone among others, donated by Janssen through Direct Relief for \u201cBasic Needs Ghana,\u201d and some Hospitals in Tamale and parts of northern Ghana, in a multi-year long program with Janssen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286256 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/bci-donation-7.jpg\" alt=\"bci-donation-7\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The breast surgeon charged the beneficiaries to maintain the level of integrity BCI is noted for in the clearing and distribution of the drugs, and ensure they are not sold to the public.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286257 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/bci-donation-8.jpg\" alt=\"bci-donation-8\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to receive these consignments because we adhere strictly to the standards and tenets of our donors and I implore you not to do anything to the contrary, which would invariably affect the poorest of the poor, our intended target,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286258 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/bci-donation-1-e1484819227925.jpg\" alt=\"bci-donation-1\" width=\"424\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Credit: BCI<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of Breast Care International, BCI, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has commended companies and institutions that support them in delivering free health services to Ghanaians.
