{"id":285707,"date":"2017-01-18T08:17:44","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T08:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=285707"},"modified":"2017-01-18T08:17:44","modified_gmt":"2017-01-18T08:17:44","slug":"investigations-into-dkm-bribery-allegations-to-end-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/investigations-into-dkm-bribery-allegations-to-end-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigations into DKM bribery allegations to end next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Investigations into alleged reports of bribery against workers and security personnel of GCB bank by DKM customers are expected to be completed on Friday 27<sup>th<\/sup> January, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;QXUv0xNuDOZpwEJsIqLqLRYcNsQhTHhH&#8221;]The police, upon request from the Registrar General\u2019s Department, who are official liquidators of DKM micro finance company, early this month begun investigations into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the workers from the Registrar General\u2019s Department have been to the various payment centres to confirm the allegations\u2026A lot of things are coming up so probably by next week we should come up with the final answer to that,\u201d the Principal Company Inspector for the Official Liquidator, Jones Nathaniel Ansah told <strong>Citi Business News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the DKM customers, officials of the GCB Bank as well as security personnel at the various payment stations demand between GH\u00a2200 and GH\u00a2500 before paying customers their locked up cash.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson for some of the DKM customers in Tamale, Mohammed Ibn Issaka, spoke to <strong>Citi Business News\u00a0<\/strong>in the early days of the development and described the situation as chaotic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe payment is ongoing but the demand for money is delaying the process because some police officers and some cashiers at the bank are liaising together and exploiting the customers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ongoing investigations Citi Business News has learnt the situation still persists at the payments centres especially at the Wa branch of GCB Bank.<\/p>\n<p>But Jones Nathaniel Ansah is optimistic their investigations should help bring perpetrators to book.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have had a whole lot of reports concerning theses bribery allegations going on at the various centers; the official liquidator has asked the people over there too.
