The Police have arrested six more people for their alleged involvement in various forms of post -election disturbances across the country.<\/p>\n

The six \u2013 Alex Asare, 43; Justice Appiah, 45; Yaa Achiaa; Emmanuel Asare; Joshua Owusu and Eric Amoyisi were all arrested in the Brong Ahafo region in connection with various offences.<\/p>\n

The first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bechem in the Brong Ahafo Region, Alex Asare and his wife were arrested following the seizure of three toilet facilities and alleged assault on some individuals.<\/p>\n

Three others were subsequently arrested by the Brong Ahafo Regional Police for attacking and inflicting cutlass wounds on one Eric Kwame.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by the police and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, said Alex Asare, said to be the 1st Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in Bechem allegedly led Justice Appiah to forcibly take over three toilet facilities at Derma, near Bechem.<\/p>\n

The statement further indicated that the Police is \u00a0“looking for other suspects who are presently at large.”<\/p>\n

The Police administration had earlier vowed to deal<\/strong><\/span><\/a> with persons involved in post election violence.<\/p>\n

Several cases of post-election and post inauguration violence have been reported across the country.<\/p>\n

Supporters of the\u00a0 New Patriotic Party (NPP)\u00a0have been blamed for allegedly attacking opponents and vandalizing and in some cases seizing state properties.<\/p>\n

They have reportedly taken over state facilities like toll booths and public toilets, claiming that they are protecting it for their party, the NPP, which is now in power.<\/p>\n
