{"id":284023,"date":"2017-01-12T06:00:21","date_gmt":"2017-01-12T06:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=284023"},"modified":"2017-01-12T06:00:21","modified_gmt":"2017-01-12T06:00:21","slug":"dr-akoto-osei-heads-new-monitoring-and-evaluation-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/dr-akoto-osei-heads-new-monitoring-and-evaluation-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Akoto Osei heads new Monitoring and Evaluation Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Akuffo Addo has introduced a new ministry intended to supervise the affairs all other ministries.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cMonitoring and Evaluation ministry\u201d will be headed by the Minister nominee, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry will also consolidate government\u2019s activities by ensuring appointees live up to set targets and culminate in the overall growth agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the nomination at the Flagstaff House on Wednesday, President Akufo Addo said Dr. Akoto Osei\u2019s past experiences should equip him to effectively handle the portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have chosen somebody who already has an extensive experience in the high level of governance in our country who is himself a renowned economist. Very successful in his first period of office in Ghana and with his very strong understanding of the budgetary processes and targets, I believe he is the ideal man to perform this new role that I am introducing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Osei is an Economist and a Banker by profession.<\/p>\n<p>He attained his PhD (Economics) at the Howard University, USA in 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Osei was the Special Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning from 2001 to 2003 and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA), Accra for six (6) years.<\/p>\n<p>He was also a Special Adviser at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning between 2001- 2005.<\/p>\n<p>He then moved on to become Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament in the erstwhile Former President John Agyekum Kuffuor administration from 2005- 2008.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Jessica Aryorkor Aryee\/citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Akuffo Addo has introduced a new ministry intended to supervise the affairs all other ministries.
