The Ashanti Regional Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is planning to throw party\u00a0to welcome its\u00a0former Secretary, Joseph Yamin back to the region as a Deputy Minister.<\/p>\n
President John Mahama on Saturday moved Joseph Yamin from the Sports Ministry to the Ashanti Region as Deputy Regional Minister.<\/p>\n
The decision has generated huge outcry from some Ghanaians who firmly believe Mr. Yamin should have been out rightly dismissed from government.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Sports Minister came under attack when he publicly announced that government was airlifting $3million cash to the Black Stars in Brazil to curb player agitations.<\/p>\n
Many deemed government\u2019s decision as an embarrassment to the nation.<\/p>\n
Reports on issue\u00a0in the international media reports\u00a0has increased calls for the dismissal of the Deputy Sports Minister.<\/p>\n
However Mr. Yamin took to social media thank President Mahama for his mercy in re-assigning as Deputy Minister for the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n
The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Raymond Tandoh in an interview with Citi News,<\/strong> the region needs Joseph Yamin to improve the party\u2019s fortunes in the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n He stated that Yamin\u2019s presence in the region will \u201cimprove our systems, our programmes and our organizational structures we have put in place for the 2016 elections.\u201d<\/p>\n Mr. Tandoh insisted that the welcome party will take place \u201cwhether he [Yamin] likes it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
