President Nana Akufo-Addo has asked the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Michael Oquaye to act expeditiously on the list of Minister designates submitted to the House for approval.<\/p>\n

President Nana Addo at the Flagstaff House today [Tuesday], announced 13 Minister designates including Osafo Maafo as Senior Minister, pending parliamentary approval.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the announcement, Nana Addo said:\u201cParliament has a responsibility, as quickly as possible, to make it possible for this government to be in place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in a very difficult moment in the life of our country. All of us know that our economy is not in a good place and I am asking the House that the essence of my letter to Mr. Speaker to act expeditiously on these nominations so that as soon as possible, I will be able to assemble the government and get on in fulfilling the promises that I made to the Ghanaian people in being able to bring that relief in progress, that they are looking for,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n

The President said though he is not asking Parliament to do a shoddy job, he believes they \u201ccan up their game and expedite the processes\u201d in order to \u201cget the government in place as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
