At least 10 people have been killed and 14 injured in an explosion in the northern Nigerian city of Bauchi, police say.<\/p>\n
Police spokesman Mohammed Haruna told AFP news agency the blast, which took place on Friday evening, occurred in a building widely known as a brothel.<\/p>\n
The cause of the blast is not clear, although Islamist militant group Boko Haram have repeatedly attacked Bauchi.<\/p>\n
It came just two days after a bomb in the capital Abuja killed at least 22.<\/p>\n
The attack, in which dozens more people were injured, targeted a busy shopping area.<\/p>\n
More than 10,000 people are estimated to have been killed since Boko Haram’s violent campaign began in 2009.<\/p>\n
The insurgents often attack targets which they consider sinful, such as bars, Christian churches or schools teaching Western values.<\/p>\n
Boko Haram has become a source of growing international concern since the abduction of more than 200 girls from a school in the town of Chibok in April.<\/p>\n
