Some commercial drivers in Cape Coast are livid over what they describe as preferential treatment by fuel attendants who served vehicles in the convoy of Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

The Vice President is in Cape Coast for his father’s funeral and the drivers say his convoy keeps returning to fuel stations with the vice president’s friends to buy fuel, bypassing those in the queue.

Cape Coast is said to be one of the hardest hit cities by the fuel shortage.

For this reason, it is very disheartening to commercial drivers that they have to be denied fuel while all the vehicles in the Vice President’s convoy have been served.

Speaking to Citi News, one frustrated driver explained, “We don’t have fuel. When we asked them to give us some, they said there’s no petrol for us because they’ve been given a request to serve the vice president’s convoy. So we are very disappointed. I’ve seen more than five right now, the police cars and the VH cars. So if you come and say that you are part of the vice president’s convoy they’ll serve you right now.
