The curfew bars all outdoor activities between 10:00pm to 4:00am, effective December 20, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This follows failed attempts to quell brewing chieftaincy conflicts between the Jamog and Jafog clans from the Bimoba community, which lead to the death of two persons earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The statement signed by the sector Minister, Prosper Bani, and copied to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, called on all stakeholders to exercise restraint in the face of provocations, and seek redress through non-violent means.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons. Offenders according to the statement will be arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tensions in\u00a0Bunkpurugu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several clashes between the factions in Bunkpurugu\u00a0have resulted in numerous deaths and curfews, a trend that has worsened\u00a0over the last few years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bunkpurugu-people-1-620x330.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-264976\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bunkpurugu-people-1-620x330.jpg\" alt=\"bunkpurugu-people-1-620x330\" width=\"620\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most recently, the\u00a0police administration confirmed that 35 houses <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/02\/03\/35-houses-torched-in-bunkprugu-disturbances-police\/\">were destroyed<\/a><\/strong><\/span> during the renewed chieftaincy clashes in the Bunkprugu Township between the Jamong and Jafog Bimoba clans.<\/p>\n<p>Three persons died whilst an unknown number of people fled the area into neighbouring Togo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Caleb Kudah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Interior has renewed the curfew hours on the Bunkprugu Township.
