The Ministry of Interior has renewed the curfew hours on the Bunkprugu Township. The curfew bars all outdoor activities between 10:00pm to 4:00am, effective December 20, 2016.<\/p>\n
This follows failed attempts to quell brewing chieftaincy conflicts between the Jamog and Jafog clans from the Bimoba community, which lead to the death of two persons earlier this year.<\/p>\n
The statement signed by the sector Minister, Prosper Bani, and copied to Citi News<\/strong>, called on all stakeholders to exercise restraint in the face of provocations, and seek redress through non-violent means.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons. Offenders according to the statement will be arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n Tensions in\u00a0Bunkpurugu<\/strong><\/p>\n Several clashes between the factions in Bunkpurugu\u00a0have resulted in numerous deaths and curfews, a trend that has worsened\u00a0over the last few years.<\/p>\n
