The Dombo youth group, which is affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tamale in the Northern Region, has declared its support for Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye as a suitable candidate for speaker of Ghana\u2019s next parliament.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s Chairman, Abdul Majeed Fuseini, in a Citi News<\/strong> interview described the former lawmaker for Dome-Kwabenya constituency in the Greater Accra Region, as a time-tested politician capable of superintending over affairs in the next Parliament.<\/p>\n He pleaded with President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, to assign Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye to the top job of Speaker of the nation\u2019s August House.<\/p>\n Abdul Majeed Fuseini recalled Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye\u2019s achievements as a former Deputy Speaker of Parliament and concluded that he was better placed for the role in the legislative body.<\/p>\n He congratulated President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo on his victory in the just ended Presidential elections and expressed hope he was going to perform well in office.<\/p>\n Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye was a Minister of\u00a0Energy and Communication from 2005 to 2007.<\/p>\n He deepened Ghana and India\u2019s bilateral relations during his tenure as Ghana\u2019s High Commissioner to India from\u00a0<\/strong>2002 to 2004.<\/p>\n Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye has written and published journals on several topics including politics In Ghana 1982-1992, culture, conflict and traditional Authority in Africa:\u00a0 a Ghanaian perspective in the Political economy of peace and security in Africa, human rights in Africa in the new global order:\u00a0 a dilemma as well as civil society and the domestic policy environment in Ghana.<\/p>\n Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye is a product of the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies and the\u00a0University of Ghana, Legon.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Dombo youth group, which is affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tamale in the Northern Region, has declared its support for Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye as a suitable candidate for speaker of Ghana\u2019s next parliament.
