{"id":276533,"date":"2016-12-13T18:11:23","date_gmt":"2016-12-13T18:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=276533"},"modified":"2016-12-13T18:11:23","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T18:11:23","slug":"pnc-calls-for-re-rerun-of-tamale-central-parliamentary-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/pnc-calls-for-re-rerun-of-tamale-central-parliamentary-election\/","title":{"rendered":"PNC calls for re-rerun of Tamale central parliamentary election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has called for fresh Parliamentary election in Tamale central constituency of the Northern Region.<\/p>\n<p>The party&#8217;s 2016 Parliamentary candidate, Salifu Iddrisu alias protocol made the call in a petition submitted to the Electoral Commission on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that the Tamale central constituency Parliamentary election on December 7 was characterized with irregularities including over voting and results from unknown polling stations.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;a4hbL82H8VOSRvpjsiIeM8zInVN70Nlj&#8221;]The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is also <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/13\/npp-heads-to-court-over-tamale-central-parliamentary-election-results\/\"><strong>heading to court<\/strong><\/a><\/span> over the same matter after submitting a petition to the EC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Below is the petition:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Returning Officer<br \/>\nTamale Central Constituency<br \/>\n2016 Presidential and Parliamentary<br \/>\nElection<\/p>\n<p>PETITION ON THE TAMALE CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY PARLIAMENTARY RESULTS<\/p>\n<p>It has become clear to me as a stakeholder in the stated constituency to petition you as the Returning Officer and the commission for the just ended polls in Tamale Central Constituency. The following are my specific particulars of claims;<\/p>\n<p>Over voting of more than twelve (12) polling stations. Example Manhalia polling station.<br \/>\nTwo (2) unknown polling stations called Mallam Fari Mosque<br \/>\nDestruction of some ballot boxes to conceal evidence<br \/>\nFurnish me with all polling station and summary pink sheets as i withdrew imposters purported as my agents.<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of the above, it is evidence that serious violations, irregularities and infractions of C.I 94 occurred during the elections process.
