Some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region woke up to find their party head office locked up by a known party activist, Yakubu Tony Aidoo.

The angry party activist, said he took the decision to punish NDC executives, who in his view are responsible for the massive defeat of the party in the just-ended elections.

He said the party executives failed to use monies allocated for their campaign judiciously.

Citi News’ Hawa Iddrisu said some party officials were later called in to restore calm and open the office.

The Deputy Regional Communications Officer, Solomon Anane said party members in the region will soon meet to decide on the next line of action.

“We have different people and the way they take issues and so people are not taking this loss very kindly…Their reactions may differ but as we speak the party office is relatively calm, everything is moving on and so nothing much to worry. “

“We cannot meet with our supporters as we speak. As a regional body we need to do a postmortem of exactly what happened and the way forward. After we have diagnosed the problem, we will meet our party faithful and tell them exactly what happened and the way forward.”
