{"id":276436,"date":"2016-12-13T06:00:43","date_gmt":"2016-12-13T06:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=276436"},"modified":"2016-12-13T06:00:43","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T06:00:43","slug":"groupe-ideal-supports-achimota-golf-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/groupe-ideal-supports-achimota-golf-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Groupe Ideal supports Achimota Golf Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Achimota Golf Club last weekend organized the President\u2019s Putter Golf tournament in commemoration of the 80<sup>th<\/sup> birthday of the Club President, Nana Atta Nyamekye.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Adu Owusu sealed this year\u2019s championship on count back after returning a net score of 66 to edge Bishop Steve Asare.<\/p>\n<p>Playing with a handicap of 19, Owusu scored 85 gross to finish ahead of a field of 40 golfers including the President of Ghana Golf Association; Mike Aggrey placed 15th and the captain of the Achimota golf club, Frank Adu junior28th place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-276439 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/golf-tourney-3.jpg\" alt=\"golf-tourney-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the ladies contest, Cynthia Nyamekye\u00a0\u00a0 playing with a handicap of 13 finished top of a group of 21women after netting a score of 69. She beat Beatrice Vetsche 70 net and charismatic Leticia Amponsah Mensah who finished in second and third respectively to the coveted title.<\/p>\n<p>Groupe Ideal\u2019s association\u00a0with this year\u2019s President\u2019s Putter golf club has provided the\u00a0platform for many golfers in the country\u00a0and the sub-region to improve on their\u00a0handicaps, according to the Director for Corporate Affairs, Ekow Blankson.<\/p>\n<p>At Ideal, we value relationship; we\u00a0believe building and sustaining relationships\u00a0with our customers is essential to the\u00a0success of our business,&#8217; said Ekow Blankson.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For years we have supported various\u00a0sporting activities such as our partnership with the\u00a0Achimota Golf Club and celebrity Golf to bring new and\u00a0exciting experiences to our corporate\u00a0clients and high value clients he added.<\/p>\n<p>George Amoah, the competition secretary to the Achimota golf club reiterated that Groupe Ideal\u2019s support has contributed immensely\u00a0to the success of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Attah Nyamekye is the 10<sup>th<\/sup> president of the Achimota Golf and a board member of Ideal Finance Limited.<\/p>\n<p>Other trophies were also handed out to the best male and female putter Eric Sowah and Catherine Fabbi while Michael Afreh and Leticia emerged winners of the longest drive contest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-276437 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/golf-tourney-1.jpg\" alt=\"golf-tourney-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The guest of honor for the occasion, Okyehene Amoatia Ofori Panin 11, in his address advocated for more young people to take up because it builds integrity.<\/p>\n<p>The Achimota golf Club was established some 30 years ago with a 5-hole golf course purposely for staff of Achimota School.
