The Member of Parliament-elect for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Vincent Sowah Odotei, has said that he is not eager to accept a possible Ministerial appointment under the incoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Vincent Odotei Sowah, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accra Hearts of Oak sporting club disclosed this in an interview on Eyewitness News on Monday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”5ISSXLUcWfjjwXPgdslotP4gPMYauQ84″]According to him, even though he is confident he would be a good Minister of State, he considers any such responsibility ‘a bonus’ to his parliamentary role.

“Anything else that comes is a bonus. I believe that given the chance and opportunity, I don’t think anybody will doubt that I can be a very good minister and I have every confidence in myself but that is not my priority,” he said.

There are growing speculations Mr Odotei Sowah will be appointed the Minister for Youth and Sports in the government of President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.

He has been a sports administrator for the past 15 years and had contested but lost in his bid to be the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in 2010.

He said, “My strength is sporting management so I can manage anywhere and that is why for 15 years I’ve been telling you about the direction of football and sports in Ghana. Given the opportunity to serve my people and the country and I believe strongly that I will be able to create value,” he noted.

The President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo is yet to announce the list of ministers to serve in his government but some social commentators have begun making suggestions of persons to fill the various ministerial offices in government.
