The Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Shaributu, has urged President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo to call his New Patriotic Party (NPP), supporters to order, following reported cases of violent conduct after the party’s election victory.<\/p>\n
He contends that the recent cases of alleged intimidation and attacks on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) could disturb the peaceful transition of power in the country.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Shaibu, Spokesperson to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, spoke on behalf of the Chief Imam when he paid a courtesy call on President-Elect Nana Akufo Addo at his residence in Nima earlier today [Monday].<\/p>\n
He said that;\u00a0“Such things, if they are truly going on, then probably your [Nana Akufo-Addo’s] voice could also help to ameliorate the problem so we can have a very peaceful transition in the interest of our country.\u201d<\/p>\n
