The Central Region has seen the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win 19 of the 23 parliamentary seats in the 2016 parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) came out of the elections with the remaining 4 seats in a region that ultimately sung to the NPP.<\/p>\n

Coming into the Elections, the NDC held 16 parliamentary seats in the region to the NPP’s 7.<\/p>\n

Of the incumbents that lost their seats 7 were single-term members of parliament; 6 from the NDC and 1 from the NPP.<\/p>\n

Rachel Appoh of Gomoa\u00a0Central was one of the incumbents to lose their seat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

6 of the 17 female parliamentary candidates that contested 12 different seas were able\u00a0to win their parliamentary contests.<\/p>\n

Citi FM’s team monitoring the polls in the Central Region was led by Citi News’ Franklin Badu Jnr and Akwesi Koranteg.<\/p>\n
