This is way below our history in elections so far and it is quite disappointing,&#8221; she noted.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, the last general election in 2012 recorded a turnout of 79.43 percent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Election-2016-50.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-275368\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Election-2016-50-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"election-2016-50\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Osei however, noted that the Commission is still awaiting figures from 65 constituencies; 25 from the Northern Region, 2 from Upper East Region, 10 from Brong Ahafo Region, 17 from Ashanti Region, 6 from the Eastern Region, 1 from the Volta Region, 16 from the Western Region and 1 from the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p>There were 15, 712, 499 persons registered to vote in the 2016 polls at 28, 992 polling stations across the 275 constituencies of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: citifomline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the 2016 general election has recorded a turnout of 49 percent from results received from 210 constituencies so far.
