Fuel Shortage In Cape Coast

A mild fuel shortage has hit some parts of the Central region as about 60% of the fuel stations still have fuel in Cape Coast.

Speaking to Citi News, some commercial drivers said, “Infact, I’ve been to two fuel stations: Pacific in Abura and Goil in Sudo and I couldn’t get some. When we finally got some, there were even long queues there. When I asked what the reason was, no one told us anything. They only said there is shortage in Accra. So we don’t really know what’s happening.”

Fuel Shortage in Tema

Motorists in Tema have expressed their worry over the fuel shortage which has hit parts of the capital including Ashaiman and the Tema Metropolis.

Speaking to Citi news, drivers said they have to cue several hours to get fuel from the few filling stations that have the product. This according to them could affect their business if not dealt with on time.

They expressed their frustration, saying “We are still in the queue so I’m just praying that when it gets to my turn, there will still be some. I have a bond meeting to attend, but because of this, I cannot go.”

No Fuel Shortage in Brong Ahafo Region

In sharp contrast to the acute fuel shortage that has hit Accra, fuel stations in the Brong Ahafo Region are reported to have enough fuel to cater to the needs of residents in the region.

Though they are anticipating an increase in the price petroleum product, these fuel stations have enough to serve consumers before the increase is announced.

Few service stations are without diesel or petrol.

Fuel stations are free from the usual queues that are associated with the imminent increase in the price of fuel.

Speaking to some dealers, Citi News found that they do not expect any shortage of fuel in the region as reported elsewhere in the country.

Meanwhile people are calling on the government to ensure consumers have fuel to conduct their businesses.
