“In fact we blame the constituency executives for failing to keep us in the know that the president was billed to visit us on Friday. If they had communicated to us appropriately we would not have gone on rampage,” they said<\/p>\n
“We would want to bring to the attention of his Excellency the President that our action was not meant to create a bad image for him and our beloved NDC party but to bring to his attention an urgent need to visit us since we miss him in Ashaiman and needed to see him.”<\/p>\n

Baba Alhassan, one of the spokesperson of the group noted that ” we want to assure him [President Mahama] of a rousing welcome and a mammoth crowd upon his arrival. We shall give him a crowd that will beat his imagination; a crowd he has never witnessed in Ashaiman before.”<\/p>\n
Mr Alhassan noted that the party is geared towards canvassing 85,000 votes for the President on December 7 adding that operation 85,000 is a must.<\/p>\n
He called on the Presidency to treat with contempt the actions of the group and forgive them of their ignorance.<\/p>\n
“We are sincerely sorry for our actions and we promise such action would not repeat itself in future.”<\/p>\n
When contacted on the subject matter, the Parliamentary aspirant for the Party, Ernest Norgbey also condemned the actions of the youth and urged them to be circumspect in their actions since the President has Ashaiman at heart.<\/p>\n
“Personally I am disappointed by the actions and utterances of the youth as they chose to do this at my blind side. I think they should have contacted my office where they could channel their grievances first since I operate an open door office policy, but I don’t know why they chose the media approach.”<\/p>\n
Mr Norgbey assured the presidency that the party’s operation 85 thousand votes is still on course and nothing would change the game plan.<\/p>\n
He urged the youth in the area and all other party faithful to channel their energies into working hard and stepping up their game to give the party a huge win come 7th.<\/p>\n
