The annual festival is used as a platform to highlight the cereal and its nutritional and economic benefits to promote eco-tourism and raise funds for self-help developmental projects.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the Avatime traditional area on the gesture, Harisson Kofi Abutiate, the chairman of the Avatime Oversight and Development Committee said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVodafone has once again shown leadership by supporting indigenous activities such as this festival. I wish to say this donation will go a long way in ensuring the success of the Avatime festival and the preservation of our heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the donation, Director of Legal and External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana, Gayheart Mensah said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVodafone Ghana is interested in sustaining the rich culture of the communities in which we operate. We recognize that cultural identity is an inherent component in the lives of all people.
