The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has rubbished claims by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), that President John\u00a0Mahama \u00a0and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, attempted to\u00a0brib<\/a>e<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Daniel Bugri Naabu.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>, Kofi Adams, who is the National\u00a0Coordinator of President Mahama\u2019s campaign team, described the allegations as \u201ccock and bull stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NPP at a press conference on Tuesday addressed by Mustapha Hamid, spokesperson for the NPP’s presidential candidate, alleged that the President and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, tried to compromise Bugri Naabu with a brand new V6 Mitsubishi, a brand New V8 Land Cruiser and GHc 3.3 million for him to resign from his party and further paint the Akufo-Addo as a dictator and \u201can anti-northerner.\u201d<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”GujFDcnTi9jvX4NDTSQww54UeWVV96pr”]\u201cAround the same time, Ibrahim Mahama had tried to convince Bugri with money to leave the NPP to become a chief after Daniel Bugri Naabu\u2019s uncle died, but Bugri refused,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

But Kofi Adams maintained that the\u00a0claims by the NPP are lies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho in his mind collects money he says it’s bribe; and goes and deposit in his account. He didn\u2019t find any police station to take that money that he considers as a bribe. He didn\u2019t find any person to witness that he took the money and was going round and looking for a Prudential bank that works on Saturday to go and deposit the money. This cock and bull stories should be told to only NPP members and not Ghanaians in generality.\u201d<\/p>\n

When further asked by host Eyewitness News<\/strong>, Richard Dela Sky on whether the government would investigate the matter, Kofi Adams said they will do no such thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not have to waste our time as a country on NPP. There are so much things to do in this country that we cannot waste our time on NPP and sit on that fallacious statements that they are making. This is the business they do when we are approaching elections. How are you going to investigate these allegations? Clearly they are lying\u2026they are lying and just making allegations,\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n

Further claims by NPP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Hamid also revealed that the vehicle that was given as bribe, was imported in August 2016 by a firm called Malin Investments Company Limited.<\/p>\n

He noted that, the NPP\u2019s checks at the Registrar General\u2019s Department indicated that, the two of the company\u2019s Directors are Hawa Mahama, sister of President Mahama, and Frank Nuhu Alormasor, President Mahama\u2019s personal assistant.<\/p>\n
