{"id":272809,"date":"2016-11-29T16:18:15","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=272809"},"modified":"2016-11-29T16:18:15","modified_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:18:15","slug":"mahama-inaugurates-kotokuraba-market-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/11\/mahama-inaugurates-kotokuraba-market-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama inaugurates Kotokuraba market [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday November 29, 2016, \u00a0inaugurated the newly built Kotokuraba Market at Cape Coast in the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272814 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/kotokuraba-3.jpg\" alt=\"kotokuraba-3\" width=\"720\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Apart from having several shops, it also has banks, a hospital and a school.<\/p>\n<p>It also has an office block, a parking lot, eatery, a fire department, offices, a drainage system and walkways, to ensure the free movement of traders and customers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272815 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/kotokuraba-1.jpg\" alt=\"kotokuraba-1\" width=\"720\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President John Mahama said the project will among other thing boost the economy in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The President during the commissioning stated that, the initial traders at the market will have shops allocated to them, and also promised that there will be no unfairness in the allocation of the shops.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272789 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/kotokoraba-market-inauguration-3.jpg\" alt=\"kotokoraba-market-inauguration-3\" width=\"640\" height=\"448\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA list of the women and other traders who were trading in the market before the reconstruction are going to be served first. Afterwards, if there are more stores, others will be attended to,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272790 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/kotokoraba-market-inauguration-4.jpg\" alt=\"kotokoraba-market-inauguration-4\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On his part, the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, thanked government for the project.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272787 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/kotokoraba-market-inauguration-1.jpg\" alt=\"kotokoraba-market-inauguration-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a good thing that has happened in Oguaa. About four years ago this place was disorganized. The late President John Atta Mills saw the importance to develop the market.
