The Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has touted government\u2019s achievement in attaining a 100 percent digital migration in the country.<\/p>\n

According to him, the migration process is almost completed, adding that, it will give Ghanaians\u00a0the opportunity to experience better picture and sound quality as well as more channels to watch.<\/p>\n

Government few years ago commenced\u00a0the process to switch television broadcasting platforms from analogue transmission to digital, but has postponed the deadline several times.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Meet the Press session in Accra on Monday, Omane Boamah, said government will distribute one million set up boxes nationwide after the migration is completed.<\/p>\n

This is because every citizen is entitled to the better picture, sound quality and interactivity that digital television broadcasting provides.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSimply put, President Mahama\u2019s government is bringing DSTV, apologies to their competitors, to your home, irrespective of your social and economic background,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Omane Boamah also used the opportunity to highlight on some government achievements in education, health, transportation, security, agriculture among others.<\/p>\n

He further rejected claims by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has collapsed.<\/p>\n

According to him, the scheme has improved tremendously due to massive investments by government into the sector.<\/p>\n
