President John Dramani Mahama has cut sod for the construction of a farmer service center at Gaani in the Kassena Nankana Municipality in the Upper East Region.<\/p>\n
President\u00a0Mahama said the farmer service center, which is a Public Private Partnership project when completed, will support farmers with farmer interventions to increase productivity and increase food security.<\/p>\n
Citing the project as the solution to a green revolution in Ghana, President\u00a0Mahama said, “in the next ten years when these centers are set up, Ghana will become self-sufficient in food production in terms of food security and become a net exporters of food to other countries”<\/p>\n
He said the facility will be stocked with 10 tractors to provide services to registered members and input units where subsidized fertilizers, seedlings and all other inputs needed by farmers to farm.<\/p>\n
