Businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, has said Former Attorney General, Martin Amidu’s campaign against President John Dramani ahead of the election, will not yield results.

Martin Amidu has stated that the GHc51 million judgment debt paid to Alfred Agbesi Woyome, can only be recouped if there is a change of government.

[contextly_sidebar id=”Rm3iPcTZeaSzZk9nX3UhPD1ynoRMOW8I”]Amidu indicated that, the governing NDC is only deceiving Ghanaians in its quest to retrieve the money from Mr. Woyome, a known NDC financier.

“I am a senior and foundation member of the NDC, the Governing party. But I am compelled to put Ghana First and to defend the 1992 Constitution by saying that the only way Ghanaians can have the Woyome/Austro-Invest joint loot refunded is to change the Government that created, looted and shared the loot with them during the Presidential elections this year,” he said.

Martin Amidu, also known as Citizen Vigilante, made the claims in a statement that was released on the back of a permission granted him by the Supreme Court to orally examine Mr. Woyome.

But speaking on Citi FM’s News Analysis Programme, ‘The Big Issue‘, Mr. Woyome dismissed the former AG’s claims, saying Ghanaians will take their decision based on the “track record” and “work” of President Mahama and not on Martin Amidu’s allegations against the President.

Woyome believes Mr. Amidu has resorted to campaigning against President Mahama because he is “jealous he was not made a Vice President.”

“The election here is based on track records and on work. Ghanaians know and they feel what government has done for them and they will take their own decision. Not on Martin Amidu, who is jealous because he was not taken as the Vice Presidential Candidate then.”

Ignore Amidu, he has a health problem – Woyome

He therefore called on Ghanaians to ignore Martin Amidu , since in his view, he has a “health problem.”

“ Martin Amidu should not be taken serious. Martin has a problem, he has a health issue . That is why we have not sued him for defamation or anything like that. He was sacked; and he lied about his ministers that they were all corrupt and he has never been able to prove it…He has a health problem.”
