{"id":26824,"date":"2014-06-23T15:59:15","date_gmt":"2014-06-23T15:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=26824"},"modified":"2014-06-23T15:59:15","modified_gmt":"2014-06-23T15:59:15","slug":"govt-on-track-to-reduce-youth-unemployment-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/06\/govt-on-track-to-reduce-youth-unemployment-mahama\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov\u2019t on track to reduce youth unemployment \u2013 Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Government says it is on track to reduce the rate of youth unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Heads of States Award Scheme, President John Mahama stated that various youth empowerment and skills development schemes had been put in place to reduce Ghana\u2019s unemployment rate.<\/p>\n<p>The President revealed that government through its various youth empowerment and skills development schemes has managed to create employment for over 200,000 youth nationwide since it assumed office in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The successes chalked by government, according to him, signifies government\u2019s commitment to youth development.<\/p>\n<p>He also revealed that government\u2019s support to fund the youth enterprise will provide access to business financing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c For young people who wish to engage in entrepreneurship, this fund will provide seed capital to address funding frustrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is also aimed at easing the burden of job seekers and first time young business men and women,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, government believes that investing in young people is the best investment the country can make.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why government has continued to support the Heads awards scheme as well as other programmes aimed at awarding young people,\u201d the President added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Government says it is on track to reduce the rate of youth unemployment in the country.
