Police in Walewale in the Northern Region are hunting for some armed robbers who blocked the Kakao Nasia Tamale road and robbed passengers of their belongings.

Citi News has received reports from the police that say a passenger onboard the Metro Mass Transit bus sustained gunshot wounds in the process.

According to the Police Commander for Walewale, DSP Simon Peter, the robbers fled the scene before the police arrived and for that reason, the Police are still hunting for the robbers.

In an interview with Citi News, he said “I sent six men to the scene. They discovered one live-ammunition and a local hat usually worn around in the area by the Fulani. So for now it is a suspicion that they had a hand in the robbery. But as I speak with you now they are organizing themselves to see whether they can comb the area to see whether can get any culprit.”
