{"id":267955,"date":"2016-11-14T06:35:53","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T06:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=267955"},"modified":"2016-11-14T06:35:53","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T06:35:53","slug":"mahama-to-open-kwame-nkrumah-interchange-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/11\/mahama-to-open-kwame-nkrumah-interchange-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama to open Kwame Nkrumah interchange today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President John Dramani Mahama will at 5pm today, November 14 cut the tape to officially open to traffic the Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange project.<\/p>\n<p>The project funded with a loan from the Brazilian government has been touted as one of the major achievements of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama opened two of the flyover in <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/07\/two-nkrumah-interchange-flyovers-open-to-motorists-pictures\/\"><strong>August 2015<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The interchange which has three flyovers also has Fire Service and ambulance stations as well as a bus terminal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-267957 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/fab07bde-1a26-4f6b-a340-959a56eed03e-989x1024.jpg\" alt=\"fab07bde-1a26-4f6b-a340-959a56eed03e\" width=\"721\" height=\"747\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The water fountain and the statue of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah have also been redesigned.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued from the Ministry of Roads and Highways said the opening was necessary to reduce congestion and allow traffic to flow freely at the Interchange and its environs.<\/p>\n<p>It cautioned motorists to park only at authorised spaces and urged pedestrians to use designated walk ways.<\/p>\n<p>The statement asked the drivers of big trucks to, as a matter of critical importance, observe the height restrictions when using the Interchange, and also tasked traders to transact businesses at authorised locations.<\/p>\n<p>Click below to watch video:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CKQ7G20RLsU\" width=\"620\" height=\"510\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
