The Northern Regional Security Committee will meet later on Monday to decide on whether to release the remains of the late Chief of Bimbilla Naa Dasana Abdulai Andani II to the family for burial.<\/p>\n
The family of the late Chief is demanding the body which was moved to Tamale after his murder.<\/p>\n
According to the family, the security personnel failed to consult the family before taking the decision to transport the Chief to Tamale.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Committee, who is also the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Limuna Muniru, said they will also decide on how to deal with the conflict in Bimbilla.<\/p>\n
He stated that the Committee will address the press and let the public know the decisions they make.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have promised Ghanaians that we will not leave any stone unturned. We are going to pursue the perpetrators and we will follow this matter up to the end,\u201d Alhaji Muniru said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Konkombas and Bimobas in Nankpanduri in the Northern Region have resolved to use dialogue rather than violence to settle their differences<\/p>\n
At a durbar organized to signify their unity, the two factions swore to commit to the peace deal they signed recently to end their protracted conflict.<\/p>\n
The feuding factions in Nankpanduri\u00a0 have been fighting over a parcel of land.<\/p>\n
Recent clashes in the area left three people dead.<\/p>\n
The Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Limuna Muniru said he was optimistic that the peace deal, unlike previous ones will last.<\/p>\n
In a related development, the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Police Service has denied allegations that the joint team on the ground is assaulting residents.<\/p>\n
A joint military team was sent to Bimbilla after clashes erupted in the town.<\/p>\n
