Highlife musician, Okyeame Kwame, says he separated from fellow musician; Okyeame Quophi, because he was broke after their return from the United States.<\/p>\n

According to him, the situation upon their return from the United States in an attempt to seek greener pastures, left him with no choice than to venture into music again after taking a break.<\/p>\n

This he said, didn\u2019t go down with his music partner, Okyeame Quophi, who wanted them to build their talent gradually before returning to music.<\/p>\n

Okyeame Kwame made this known in an interview on Beta Malt \u201cOn the Go\u201d (taxi edition), when he was asked by a fan the reason for the split.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was broke. We started music in 97; Kofi and I. We did music for a while and went to live in America\u2026When we came back in 2003, we were broke. Whenever I told kofi, let\u2019s go for a performance, Kofi said no, people will take us cheaply, let\u2019s wait to build our artistry\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Okyeame Kwame together with Okyeame Quophi formed the \u00a0music group \u201cAkyeame \u201d which took hiplife music by storm when they collaborated in the 90\u2019s with some hit tracks until the duo decided to go their separate ways.<\/p>\n

There have been a lot of rumors surrounding their split, but Okyeame Kwame opened up on the reason on this week\u2019s episode of Beta Malt OTG with Jessica Opare Saforo.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the Go\u201d with Beta Malt, is a 15 minute fun- packed, fascinating and inspirational TV program which is purely interactive and presents the opportunity for people to share the story of their hustle in the most fun-loving way, with the reward of nourishment to keep the zeal.<\/p>\n
