Eyewitness News<\/strong>, the Director of Policy for the PPP, Kofi Asamoah Siaw, pleaded with citizens not to be distracted by the EC\u2019s court cases.<\/p>\n\u201cAll I am pleading with the media and the people of Ghana is that, they should not be distracted by the court action. The Electoral Commission is not going to stop with the PPP case,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
“They are minded to take all of us, divert our attention to a different angle, create a decoy situation so that we don\u2019t ask the legitimate questions that we need to ask.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whilst the citizenry and media follow the legal developments, Mr. Siaw urged them to also “pay attention to the important things that matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Peace Council, religious bodies must speak out<\/strong><\/p>\nMr. Siaw also bemoaned the inaction on the part of the Peace Council and other relegious bodies, as he urged them to speak out and not allow the EC to hijack the electoral process.<\/p>\n
“The silence of the National Peace Council and all the religious bodies is deafening. They need to speak to it because they are citizens first and foremost. They cannot allow this Electoral Commission Chairperson to hijack the electoral process to a destination that is undesirable.\u201d<\/p>\n
