{"id":264548,"date":"2016-11-02T20:45:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T20:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=264548"},"modified":"2016-11-02T20:45:00","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T20:45:00","slug":"mahama-inaugurates-airport-hills-overpass-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/11\/mahama-inaugurates-airport-hills-overpass-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama inaugurates Airport Hills overpass [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has said his track record on road development is unprecedented in the history of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The President made the assertion at the inauguration of the 40-metre Airport Hill overpass in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The over pass which falls within the Ledzokuku and Dadekotopon constituencies was started in 2014.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264559 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_130555.jpg\" alt=\"????????????\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following the overpass motorists moving on the Giffard Road to Spintex \u00a0or Teshie will no longer need to go through the Tetteh-Quarshie Interchange.<\/p>\n<p>They will instead turn around the former Home Touch restaurant on the Giffard Road and proceed to their destination.<\/p>\n<p>It will also connect the traffic-prone Spintex Road to Teshie through Burma Camp and Labadi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264562 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_130819.jpg\" alt=\"20161102_130819\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the inauguration President Mahama charged the Minister of Transport to personally supervise all major road projects ongoing to ensure that constructors and consultants work to standard and specifications.<\/p>\n<p>He further told the Ministry to ensure value for money and also make sure the project was\u00a0completed on time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264563 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/FLYOVER-ACROSS-THE-MOTORWAY-1.jpg\" alt=\"flyover-across-the-motorway-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The President also cut the sod for work to begin on the construction of two new flyovers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264565 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/FLYOVER-ACROSS-THE-MOTORWAY-2.jpg\" alt=\"flyover-across-the-motorway-2\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the flyover will be over the flower pot roundabout and one, over the Accra-Tema Motorway into East Legon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264557\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_125658.jpg\" alt=\"????????????\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264556 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_124332.jpg\" alt=\"????????????\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The President also announced that plans are advanced to construct two flyovers to link the Teshie-Manet section over the motorway to Adjriganno.<\/p>\n<p>The next flyover will be across the motorway at Klagon to Ashaiman.<\/p>\n<p>The president said these projects will be at an estimated cost of 60 million Ghana cedis and will be completed in 24 months.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264553 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_114020.jpg\" alt=\"20161102_114020\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He also hinted that they would be three level interchange at Pokuase over the Accra-Kumasi Road to link the Awoshie road.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-264556\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161102_124332.jpg\" alt=\"????????????\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Kojo Agyeman\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has said his track record on road development is unprecedented in the history of Ghana.
