{"id":263509,"date":"2016-10-30T21:24:21","date_gmt":"2016-10-30T21:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=263509"},"modified":"2016-10-30T21:24:21","modified_gmt":"2016-10-30T21:24:21","slug":"mahama-decorates-adenuga-with-highest-national-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/mahama-decorates-adenuga-with-highest-national-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama decorates Adenuga with highest national award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of Ghana, on Saturday, 29th October, 2016 conferred its highest civil national award of \u201cThe Companion of the Star of Ghana (CSG)\u201d on Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr. The event was held at the Accra International Conference Centre.<\/p>\n<p>President of Ghana, Mr. John Dramani Mahama said the Award \u201cis in recognition of your unique and outstanding contribution to business enterprise both in Ghana and the continent of Africa at large\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama justified the award further by saying that \u201cthrough your creative business exertions, you have touched many lives in Ghana. You have provided employment for our teeming youth, artists, footballers and many more. I am particularly proud of you. This award is our way of saying a simple THANK YOU\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The citation on Dr Adenuga commended his \u201ctransformational achievements in the telecommunications industry\u201d, which included the laying of the historic Glo 1 optic fibre cable linking several African countries including Ghana with Europe and America.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama applauded Dr Adenuga\u2019s association with telecommunications in Ghana since Glo Mobile\u2019s launch and praised the massive capital investment he has injected into the project. He also noted that Dr Adenuga\u2019s investment forays and strong support for sports have drawn honours from far and near to him. He admitted that such outstanding contributions similarly recommended Dr Adenuga for Ghana\u2019s highest civilian honour.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance remarks, Dr Adenuga thanked President Mahama for the honour and noted that the President\u2019s \u201crecognition and support of my modest contributions to the development of Ghana\u2019s economy have come as a great source of pride and encouragement to me.
