A student accused of threatening to kill the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sefwi-Akontombra, has been remanded into prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court.<\/p>\n
Osei Antwi, 20, denied the charge and would make his next appearance on July 2.<\/p>\n
He is said to have called the DCE, Peter Nkuah, on his cellular phone, introduced himself as an armed robber hired by some people to rob and kill him.<\/p>\n
The accused demanded cash payment of GH\u00a210,000 to spare the DCE\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
Police Inspector Gulliver Kwabena Tenkorang told the court presided over by Mr William Boampong that the incident happened on June 11.<\/p>\n
Mr Nkuah became alarmed and reported the matter to the Police who succeeded in luring Antwi to Kumasi, where he was arrested.<\/p>\n
The prosecution said the accused admitted making the threats and cash demand in his caution statement.<\/p>\n
