{"id":260906,"date":"2016-10-23T14:37:17","date_gmt":"2016-10-23T14:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=260906"},"modified":"2016-10-23T14:37:17","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T14:37:17","slug":"savelugu-independent-candidate-begins-bid-to-unseat-ndc-incumbent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/savelugu-independent-candidate-begins-bid-to-unseat-ndc-incumbent\/","title":{"rendered":"Savelugu independent candidate begins bid to unseat NDC incumbent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The independent Parliamentary candidate in the Savelugu constituency\u00a0Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung, has served notice of his ambition of unseating the\u00a0governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP with a massive campaign launch dubbed, \u201cTikuzyemi, tibijohra,\u201d to wit \u201cWe are firmly rooted, no shaky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170189\" src=\"http:\/\/ghelections.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8003.jpg\" alt=\"img_8003\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people especially the youth there attended the campaign launch at the main Savelugu market square.<\/p>\n<p>Scores of them wore T\u2019 Shirts of the NDC Presidential candidate, President John Dramani Mahama embossed with the portrait of Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the massive crowd, he thanked them for their irresistible support and pleaded with them to let it reflect on the secret ballot on December 7.<\/p>\n<p>He implored the electorate in Savelugu to ignore what he described as the vile propaganda against him by the NDC Parliamentary candidate, Alhassan Abdulai Red on his campaign platforms.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170190\" src=\"http:\/\/ghelections.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8005.jpg\" alt=\"img_8005\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung, the NDC Parliamentary candidate has disappointed residents of Savelugu as the MCE.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed Alhassan Abdulai Red has lost touch with the grass root and cannot represent the constituency in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He outlined agriculture, education, health and youth employment as his priority.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170191\" src=\"http:\/\/ghelections.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8015.jpg\" alt=\"img_8015\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaker upon speaker including some NDC ward Chairmen supporting Alhassan Iddrisu\u2019s independent ambition urged the electorate to massively vote for him on December 7.<\/p>\n<p>They touted Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung as a God fearing and generous person capable of addressing the problems in the constituency when giving the mandate.<\/p>\n<p>They vowed to intensify their campaign against the NDC\u2019s Alhassan Abdulai Red.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170192\" src=\"http:\/\/ghelections.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8002.jpg\" alt=\"img_8002\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The independent Parliamentary candidate, Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung left the NDC after the party\u2019s Parliamentary primary.<\/p>\n<p>The Savelugu Municipal Chief Executive, Alhassan Abdulai Red won the primary but Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung felt cheated and decided to go independent,<\/p>\n<p>Several attempts by some NDC bigwigs at the national and regional levels to convince him to rescind his decision hit a snag.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170193\" src=\"http:\/\/ghelections.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8006.jpg\" alt=\"img_8006\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Savelugu Parliamentary contest is between the NDC\u2019s Alhassan Abdulai Red, the NPP\u2019s Mohammed Abdul Samed-Gunu and the Independent candidate, Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung.<\/p>\n<p>_<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/ghelections.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The independent Parliamentary candidate in the Savelugu constituency\u00a0Alhassan Iddrisu Bunglung, has served notice of his ambition of unseating the\u00a0governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP with a massive campaign launch dubbed, \u201cTikuzyemi, tibijohra,\u201d to wit \u201cWe are firmly rooted, no shaky.\u201d Hundreds of people especially the youth there attended the campaign launch at the main Savelugu [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":14,"featured_media":260916,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[58],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Savelugu independent candidate begins bid to unseat NDC incumbent - Citi 97.3 FM - Relevant Radio.
