A Commercial motor bike rider who offered a 14-year-old girl a ride and ended up having sex with her has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.<\/p>\n
Ben Alake charged with defilement pleaded guilty, and pleaded with the court to forgive him.<\/p>\n
The court convicted Alake on his plea but deferred sentence to October 28.<\/p>\n
This is to enable him provide documents to ascertain his age on the next adjourned date.<\/p>\n
Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant, the father of the victim, was a farmer residing at Katapor, near Amasaman.<\/p>\n
According to prosecution, the victim is a hairdresser apprentice living with the complainant. The accused person also resides at Katapor.<\/p>\n
Detective Inspector Atimbire said on October 10, this year, at about 10:00pm, the victim closed from work and the accused person offered her lift.<\/p>\n
When the victim reached her house, she told the accused person that she would alight but accused declined and sent her to his house and defiled her.<\/p>\n
The following day, prosecution said the complainant had information that accused person was seen carrying the victim on his motor bike so he proceeded to his house and found the victim lying on a mattress while the accused person had left for work.<\/p>\n
According to the prosecutor, the complainant took the victim to the Police Station and lodged a\u00a0complaint.<\/p>\n
He was issued with a medical form to send the victim to the hospital for examination.<\/p>\n
On October 11, this year, Alake was arrested, the prosecutor said.<\/p>\n
