{"id":259528,"date":"2016-10-18T18:12:25","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T18:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=259528"},"modified":"2016-10-18T18:12:25","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T18:12:25","slug":"it-will-take-a-miracle-for-demodzi-to-win-bortianor-ndc-executive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/it-will-take-a-miracle-for-demodzi-to-win-bortianor-ndc-executive\/","title":{"rendered":"It will take a miracle for Demodzi to win Bortianor &#8211; NDC executive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Bortianor Ngleshi Amanfrom Constituency, Bright Demodzi, is fighting a losing battle ahead of the 2016 polls, a constituency executive has said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> Constituency Watch team revealed the rift between the MP, his executives and the NDC supporters on the ground and now the NDC\u2019s constituency Organizer, Mawuyeram Emmanuel Kojo Asae, has said\u00a0it will take a miracle for him to win back the seat.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;AfAAcipIG79WyksuufTromc2BMePLcri&#8221;]In an interview with Citi News&#8217; Umaru Sanda Amadu, he said, \u201che [Demodzi] himself does not realize that this point, he has already lost the seat\u2026 he has already lost the seat on the ground. It will take a miracle for my MP to win the seat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Asae comments come after being called <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/18\/ndc-executive-immature-for-criticising-me-bortianor-mp\/\">politically immature<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by Mr. Demodzi publicly criticising the MP without resorting to party structures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asae will still campaign for Demodzi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite the criticism and the bleak outlook of the NDC MP\u2019s chances, Mr. Asae said he was still campaigning for Mr. Demodzi as that is still his duty to the NDC.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that,\u201cthere is no way I can campaign for anybody\u2026 It is my job as a constituency executive to defend the party and I am doing that because I have to campaign for my President and campaign for my MP whether he has lost already.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Asae\u00a0however continued with the pessimism by likening the\u00a0Bortianor Ngleshi Amanfrom constituency, a stronghold of the NDC, to strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are constituencies in the Ashanti Region that we know we can never win those seats but normally we try to do campaign there. It is also done to get more votes for the President. That is exactly what we are doing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_6242.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-259235 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_6242.jpg\" alt=\"Bortianor\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Demodzi immature for not sensing defeat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only four of the 27 constituency executives are solidly behind Mr. Demodzi, according to Mr. Asae and he believes the MP is exhibiting his own degree of naivete and political immaturity if he cannot see the impending defeat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So if you have a team of 27 and only for are following you.
