{"id":259436,"date":"2016-10-18T17:30:16","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T17:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=259436"},"modified":"2016-10-18T17:30:16","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T17:30:16","slug":"we-wont-vote-for-mahama-if-volta-chiefs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/we-wont-vote-for-mahama-if-volta-chiefs\/","title":{"rendered":"We won&#8217;t vote for Mahama if &#8230; &#8211; Volta residents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some residents in Kpasa in the Nkwanta North Constituency in the Volta region are threatening to vote against President John Mahama if the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) fails to construct some roads in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The residents in the region say several attempts to get government to fix their roads have proved futile.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a gathering of some chiefs and residents in the area ahead of President Mahama&#8217;s speech delivery, the paramount chief,\u00a0Ubor Tasan Gonja VI therefore appealed to government to construct the roads.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-259440\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/no-road-no-vote-at-kpassa-4.jpg\" alt=\"no-road-no-vote-at-kpassa-4\" width=\"517\" height=\"291\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ubor talked about the 25km Nkwanta -Kpasa road which is in a deplorable state adding that his\u00a0subjects would vote massively for the President in the general elections if these promises are fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-259439\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/no-road-no-vote-at-kpassa-3.jpg\" alt=\"no-road-no-vote-at-kpassa-3\" width=\"532\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a number of concerns we wish to lay before you. First and foremost, among them is the need for urgent action to be taken on the 25 kilometers Kpasa stretch on the Eastern corridor roads.
