Access Bank Ghana has officially launched an Initial Public Offer (IPO) for prospective investors to buy shares in the Bank and be a part of its growing fortunes.<\/p>\n
The launch follows approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the \u00a0Ghana \u00a0Stock \u00a0Exchange (GSE) \u00a0to \u00a0undertake \u00a0 an \u00a0 Initial \u00a0 Public \u00a0 Offering \u00a0 and subsequently list on the Ghana Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n
Access Bank hopes to raise a minimum amount of GHs104 million to support its growth and expansion \u00a0strategies \u00a0when \u00a0the \u00a0offer \u00a0opens \u00a0from \u00a019th \u00a0October to 11th \u00a0November,2016.<\/p>\n
Prospective investors are required to purchase a minimum of one hundred shares at GHC4.00 per share.<\/p>\n
Launching the IPO, the Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Mr. Dolapo Ogundimu said, \u201cthere is the need to grow capacity to take advantage of the opportunities that have emerged from running successful operations in Ghana so far.”<\/p>\n
“In addition, we are seeking \u00a0to \u00a0 expand \u00a0our \u00a0operations by \u00a0 making \u00a0new \u00a0investments \u00a0in \u00a0branch \u00a0expansion,robust technology and other infrastructure which will enable us fulfil our commitment to deliver superior banking services to our valued customers and stakeholders\u201d.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ogundimu \u00a0stated \u00a0 that Access \u00a0Bank \u00a0has strengthened \u00a0its \u00a0resolve \u00a0to build \u00a0a \u00a0truly sustainable \u00a0 bank \u00a0 that \u00a0 offers \u00a0 superior \u00a0 value \u00a0 to \u00a0 shareholders, \u00a0 customers \u00a0 and \u00a0 the communities \u00a0it \u00a0serves and that \u00a0it\u2019s positive growth \u00a0trajectory and \u00a0consistent financial performance \u00a0 over \u00a0 the \u00a0 past \u00a0 seven \u00a0 years \u00a0 provides \u00a0 adequate \u00a0 basis \u00a0 for \u00a0 prospective investors to buy shares in the Bank.<\/p>\n
He \u00a0 named \u00a0African \u00a0 Alliance \u00a0 Securities \u00a0 and \u00a0 Chapel \u00a0 Hill \u00a0 Denham \u00a0 Securities \u00a0 as \u00a0 Lead Managers and Sponsoring brokers for the IPO.<\/p>\n
Commenting \u00a0 on \u00a0 this \u00a0 milestone, \u00a0 the \u00a0 Chairman \u00a0 of \u00a0 the \u00a0 Board \u00a0 of \u00a0 Directors, \u00a0 Mr. \u00a0Frank Beecham expressed optimism about the exercise and belief of the Bank in the potential of Ghana\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
He noted: \u201cAccess Bank is here to stay for the long haul and we encourage both private and institutional investors to participate in this offer and own apart of one of the fastest growing banks in Ghana\u201d<\/p>\n
