The 25 lucky subscribers of Glo Mobile Ghana who won in the \u2018Let’s Go To Brazil\u2019<\/b> promotion have been unveiled. The telecoms company on Wednesday presented the final batch of winners in the\u200e\u00a0promo to the press at a colourful ceremony held at its Gloworld experiential shop at Ringroad Central in Accra.<\/p>\n
The company announced that all the promo winners scheduled to travel to Brazil would depart on Thursday, June 19, 2014. Glo gave cash packages of GHc 5,000 to winners who could not make the trip to Brazil due to technical challenges such as unavailability of passports and inability to get a valid visa. One of the winners, in a philanthropic gesture, donated his prize to the Demonstration School for the Deaf, Mampong \u00a0Akropong.<\/p>\n
Glo Mobile said nine of the 25 lucky subscribers had successfully completed their travel documentations and were set for the once-in-a-lifetime trip to the land of football. They will have the golden opportunity of watching Ghana play in its critical match against Germany.<\/p>\n
The 20 fresh winners announced on Wednesday joined five others who had earlier been unveiled on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The 25 winners are made up of 22 Glo Mobile subscribers and three of the company’s business partners.<\/p>\n
The Head of Business of Glo Mobile Ghana, Mr Akeem Kazeem, said at the event that Glo had promised in March to turn to reality the dreams of subscribers on the network wishing watch Ghana play in Brazil.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are therefore happy to present to you all the lucky and faithful subscribers of Glo Mobile Ghana who won in our Let’s Go To Brazil promo,\u2019\u2019 he disclosed.<\/p>\n
He added that since Glo Mobile launched about two years ago, its subscribers had stood solidly by the network, and remarked that \u201cthis promo is therefore our modest way of showing our gratitude to them for their support. Our message to our subscribers is that we value them so much and we will always treasure an opportunity to bond with them and reciprocate their love and loyalty.\u2019\u2019\u200e<\/p>\n
He added that Glo would continually excite the Ghana market with more benefits in terms of products and promotions that would\u00a0give subscribers more reasons to make Glo Mobile their network of choice.<\/p>\n
The new set of winners include Eteren Kelvin Okotei, a Marketing student at Legon; Nii Ankra Hyde, an accountant; Ogechinyere Amogu, a final year Law student at Zenith University; Michael Agho, a student; Mr Osei Yaw Akoto Dappah a businessman in the petroleum sector; Mr Solomon Addo Nartey; Prosper Jordan; Sunny Kumi, a stationeries dealer who ported his line to Glo from another network; Hawa Mustapha a Kumasi based trader who plies the Dubai route; Benard Osei, a Physics and Computer Science graduate of Legon, who is doing his national service at the National Nuclear Research Institute; Donaldson Gyasi; Amadu Yahaya; Aisha Danjuma; Davis Omole, an oil and gas businessman; Charles Otoo, a businessman and farmer; Collins Amposah, a stationeries seller in Koforidua and Gabriella Kandolf.<\/p>\n
The three Glo business partners who won in the promo are Chaffal Limited, Bread of Life Limited and Tom Telco Limited, which is based in Kumasi.<\/p>\n
One of the new winners, Solomon Addo Nartey said going to Brazil on a Glo sponsored, all expenses paid trip, sounded too good to be true. He said: \u201cI must confess that I know that it is not easy for a company that is just starting to make such a commitment, let alone fulfilling it. That is why I give my thumb up to Glo.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
On his part, Sunny Kumi, disclosed that he fell in love with Glo from the beginning due to the ground breaking efforts of the company in Nigeria where it ensured that people could pay for the actual calls they made rather than pay per minute. \u201cI had no doubt in my mind that this is the place (network) to be, so I simply ported my number to Glo when it launched,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
The five earlier winners included an Accra based auto dealer, Joshua Opong, a Malian student in Accra,\u00a0Alassane Diarra, a former student of EP University in Ho, Richmond Dzade, a Nigerian student, Oamen Jerry Owen and Mallam Musa.<\/p>\n
