Ghana coach, Kwasi Appiah has admitted that mistakes cost them in the game against USA.<\/p>\n
The Black Stars were on Monday beaten by USA in their group opener at the World Cup with goals from Clint Dempsey and John Brooks giving the US a 2-1 win despite a late equaliser from Andre\u00a0 Ayew.<\/p>\n
The defeat has left the Stars in a precarious position, possibly needing to secure maximum points from their two remaining group games to progress from the group.<\/p>\n
Appiah was critical of the performance of the strikers and midfielders for failing to convert their chances. The Black Stars had 21 shots of which only 3 were on target (excluding blocked shots).<\/p>\n
\u201cI have learnt a lot, considering the fact that when you create chances and you are not able to finish it comes down to whether your midfielders or strikers are doing the right thing at the right time,\u201d Appiah said.<\/p>\n
Appiah has however assured Ghanaians that team would study the game and revise any mistakes that were made.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to go back and see our mistakes and correct them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
On the crucial game at the weekend against Germany, Appiah said: It\u2019s not going to be easy to qualify from the group, but we\u2019ll give everything to do just that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to play well against Germany and I know we\u2019ll give them a good game.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Black Stars face the Germans on Saturday and then take on\u00a0 Portugal five days later.<\/p>\n
