A presidential candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten has promised to run a clean campaign in the lead up to the party\u2019s presidential candidate elections.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kyeremanten announced this when he picked up his nomination forms to contest Nana Akufo-Addo and five others in the NPP presidential primaries in December.<\/p>\n

Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Sammy Wiafe was at the party headquarters and reported that about a hundred of Mr. Kyeremanten\u2019s supporters trooped to party’s headquarters to support him.<\/p>\n

\u201cA few of his supporters wearing his T-shirts with the inscription \u2018we need change for power\u2019 were at the party headquarters before Alan Kyeremanten himself arrived at the party headquarters,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Wiafe added that the supporters were of the view it is time for Mr. Kyeremanten to lead the NPP for victory in the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt came along with the usual drumming and dancing that characterizes the picking up of nomination forms,\u201d he narrated.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kyeremanten was taken through the nomination process by the second vice chairman of the NPP, Sammy Crabbe.<\/p>\n

He was given his forms after he paid the nomination fee of GHC 10,000.<\/p>\n

Addressing the crowd, the presidential hopeful gave the assurance that all campaigns will be clean and \u00a0devoid of acrimony.<\/p>\n

He also noted that the NPP as a political party needs a transformational leader, a leader who can raise enough funds for the NPP.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kyeremanten was of the opinion that the party has been in opposition for far too long therefore, the NPP must do everything possible to win the next general elections.<\/p>\n

Seven presidential candidate aspirants have picked up nomination forms to contest the election.<\/p>\n

They include Nana Akufo-Addo, former Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, former Information Minister, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, sitting MP for Asuogyaman, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, his colleague MP for Mampong, Francis Addai Nimoh and former Attorner General, Joe Ghartey.<\/p>\n

The party will go to the polls on December 6, 2014 to elect a flagbearer to lead the party in the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n
