The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the newly created Tatale\/Sanguli District of the Northern Region, Nicholas Nakibe Waake says he\u00a0is determined to develop the District to enhance the living standard of people.<\/p>\n
He noted that the deplorable nature of roads in the district and inadequate accommodation are making\u00a0the implementation of projects difficult.<\/p>\n
Mr. Waake made this known in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> at Tatale, the district capital on Tuesday where he outlined a number of challenges confronting the district and efforts being made to address them.<\/p>\n He disclosed that the assembly was constructing three semi-detached accommodation facilities to address the accommodation problem.<\/p>\n On education,\u00a0he said the assembly was implementing government\u2019s policy of eliminating schools under trees and sheds and disclosed 5 school blocks had been built, sponsoring over 100 teacher trainees to boost the number of qualified teachers in schools and has also provided an office accommodation for the District Ghana Education Service for effective monitoring.<\/p>\n The DCE noted that potable drinking water which was a major problem confronting the people in the capital has been addressed with implementation of the small town system and called on donors come to the aid of the assembly to solve the perennial water shortage in the area.<\/p>\n He said a number of\u00a0CHIPs compounds have been constructed, existing ones refurbished and the implementation of the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) to improve the health and sanitation needs of the district.<\/p>\n Mr. Waake lamented that illegal logging and lumbering was seriously affected the vegetation and commended the security agencies for helping to bring the situation under control and pledged to tighten security of the area.<\/p>\n He therefore called on government, development partners and civil society to collaborate with assembly to promote development of the area.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Mashoud Kombat\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the newly created Tatale\/Sanguli District of the Northern Region, Nicholas Nakibe Waake says he\u00a0is determined to develop the District to enhance the living standard of people.
